I have been working as a psychotherapist in private practice, in Toronto, for 25 years. My general, theoretical orientation is psycho-dynamic. Some of my major influences are Existential psychoanalysis, the work of British psychoanalyst, Donald Winnicott and Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Jung.

In addition, I have been an adjunct professor of Philosophy at York University for 30 years. 

I am also a writer. In 2014 my book Sweet Nothing: An Elemental Case for Taking Our Time was published with Fourfront Editions, an imprint of Quattro Books. My novel Love and Rain published by Guernica Editions in 2023 was also the co-winner of the Bressani Literary prize for fiction in 2026
